Story
On Sunday, 23 March, 2014 I successfully completed my 3rd FIIG Bobbin Head Cycle Classic and have raised some much needed funds for all the event's charities but especially for LIFELINE.
Even though I was unfit my trusty bike brought me home and a training regime of coffee and pastries wasn't so bad after all!
I pedalled really hard for all the charities and especially to save lives and raise money for LIFELINE crisis support and suicide prevention services. I thank you for your support and want you to know you can still donate.
All donations are distributed to the charities in full (via Turramurra Rotary Foundation which has tax deductible status).
Please click on the green DONATE button on the top right to make a secure online tax deductible donation.
Activity
Turramurra Rotary Foundation (Bobbin Head Cycle Classic)
The Bobbin Head Cycle Classic is a project of the Rotary Clubs of Ku-Ring-Gai, St Ives and Turramurra. Half of all funds raised is distributed to Lifeline. The balance is shared between KYDS in Lindfield, Eagles RAPS in Doonside and Bo Children’s Hospital in Sierra Leone. Lifeline provides vital services in crisis mental health support and suicide across Sydney. Lifeline operates 24 hour telephone counselling for people in need and SAVES LIVES in your local community. KYDS provides confidential counselling and support to adolescents and their families, helping them tackle the many problems facing young people today. Eagles RAPS is dedicated to building potential in young people. A "school" program provides a drop in educational facility for young people unable to attend mainstream schools for varying reasons. Sierra Leone in West Africa has an under 5 mortality rate 30 times higher than Australia. Rotary Clubs from Australia, UK and Sierra Leone are building and operating a children’s hospital in Bo, the second largest town. Your donation will SAVE LIVES.
Donations are receipted by the Turramurra Rotary Foundation, a deductible gift recipient. Donations over $2 are tax deductible.
